Let me introduce to you the band, [c]enterpoint.

Centerpoint is an unsigned Filipino variety rock band from General Santos City founded by present guitarist, Julius Paler during the Globe Kantabataan SongwritingCompetition 2007 where the band’s first single, “Ipakita” won 1st runner-up in the national level.  The band rose to local popularity with their independent album, “Paper Floors” a year after.  Centerpoint has been in the local mainstream ever since.  In 2011, Muzikalilangan Socsargen named Centerpoint the “Maharlika Award" – Most Promising local band.

Local
Having adapted a wide range of rock genres, Centerpoint has been famous for various theme songs in the local scene like the well known Gensan’s Tuna Festival theme song, “Whoa Gensan” and ABS-CBN’s morning show, “Magandang Umaga South Central Mindanao” opening.

Centerpoint, as one of the most influential groups in the region, is the founding entity of Kaskas, Sigaw ng Musika sa Gensan, a community of local bands who advocate original music.

National + International
Last 2008, Centerpoint has been featured in Abs-Cbn’s Sharon, as one of the best local artists from VizMin.

A few of Centerpoint’s home studio recorded demo songs are now playing on a few fm stations around the country and the band has uploaded a number of independent music videos in YouTube i.e. “Panaginip”, “Walang Hanggan” and “What Goodbye Means”.

The band has also been part of a number of social awareness works.  They have been through cause gigs across Polomolok, Southern Leyte and even in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and Hat Yai, Thailand.  They have rendered musical services to CBN Asia’s Operation Blessing, the promotional material for Hopeflows Foundation – Jeremy’s Motour, the FRAME program, etc.

Musical Style
Centerpoint’s sound has a wide range and variety of rock sounds; from the pop-ish “What Goodbye Means” to the rap-rockestra “Loob ng Selda”.  Most of the recorded songs have a common “Anthemic” taste.

The band has influences of Alternative, RnB, Synth Punk, Euro, and Standard OPM Rock.
